That’s a Spicy Meat-a-ball!

Last night Heather and I entertained for our friends Didrik and Elizabeth. What a fun evening. Though I think we may have kept them up a little too late.

I got home last night and to my surprise the gutter guys were there finishing up the job. Now, I just got my bid last week so this was a pleasant surprise! The gutters are already done! Woot! Anyway, there was this huge package on the step when we got home too. It was Heather’s dress! She was psyched when she got home. It’s not hanging in our cedar closet until she get’s it fitted.

I made spaghetti and homemade meatballs for dinner and we enjoyed a couple of our favorite wines including one called: Bearitage. It is an absoultely fantastic red wine. One of the others we had was called Tin Roof. It’s a Syrah-Cabernet that is a little on the sweeter side for a blend of this type. It was tasty. But I think I enjoyed the Bearitage better.

We all caught up and told stories of how we met our sweethearts and then we retired to the bar where I LOST AN 80s bet. That’s right. Apparently I’m too ‘hip’ now and my eighties trivia circuit doesn’t get enough exercise. Elizabeth challenged me that the song “Please, please, please let me get what I want” by the Smiths was on the Pretty in Pink soundtrack. I own the soundtrack so I bet her $1 that it wasn’t on the soundtrack. It was. Track 10. However, I made my buck back on a U2 trivia question. 😉 So it’s all good.

April Flowers Bring More Yodeling

Boy, that didn’t rhyme.

Anyway, last night was our proverbial ‘guys night’ and I have to say that it was a good one. But before we had said ‘guys night’ I made a trip to Sam’s club and bought some meat for the grill. Boy, it’s nice to be back outside and grilling. I also bought 2 dozen roses for Heather and surprised her when she got off the bus by presenting them to her. She seemed very pleased. She just loves to get flowers.

Later Adam, Rob and Tom came by and we grilled pork chops, chicken burgers and angus beef burgers. We had some potato salad, chips and peanuts as well. Afterward we watched the Doctor Who episode entitledd “Rose” and then had the worlds longest Cricket game accompanied by German Yodeling music. It was quite fun. Thanks everyone!
